Be the Music: The Art of Musicality

This class will explore how to embody music for Burlesque performance. Participants will connect with their bodies through a guided warm up consisting of dynamic movements and intentional stretches to maximize mobility. Students will learn how to dissect and highlight different elements of a song–from lyrics to instrumentation–through listening, observing, and experimentation. Students will learn a short choreographed combination where they will learn how to pace themselves while delivering a dynamic performance that builds from beginning to end. Participants will be given hands-on instruction and personalized critiques to help them fully embody the music with certainty, confidence, and personal flair.
Bob’beyonce is a performer, choreographer, and teacher from Chicago, Il. For 20+ years she has trained in a variety of styles ranging from classical forms to street dance. Bobbi began her burlesque journey in 2020 and since then has been performing consistently throughout the Midwest. She is the 2023 Unrivaled at Unbridled competition winner hosted by Untitled Supper Club where she is a resident performer. She also competed in the Best Debut category at the Burlesque Hall of Fame in 2025. Bobbi loves to connect with people through dance and aims to help others build confidence and refine their artistic expression. She is currently a full time performer and dance educator in Chicago. She is a travel enthusiast who loves to gain knowledge and perspective through dance cultures from around the world. Bobbi blends her diverse background in order to curate a uniquely artistic voice authentic to her experience.

Burlesque is the ultimate live performance, where in just 5 minutes anything can happen. How do we face an audience that is always different—or worse, what do we do when something goes wrong? How would Our Character react if they were truly alive?
Through improvisation, we will learn to fully own the stage in every possible scenario, while remaining true to the character.
This workshop is suitable for those who already have stage experience and is open todancers, actors, and performers in general.
Key elements: development of powerful emotions (love, hate, anger, joy, seduction) – sustaining eye contact – improvisation exercises – work on one’s performative self.
Please bring a stage prop that is part of your regular performance repertoire.
Amber skin, captivating charm, sinuous curves: Ella Bottom Rouge is a multi-talented artist, producer, teacher, and speaker. She has traveled and performed throughout Italy, across Europe, and around the world. In 2025, she was named the sixth mostinfluential performer in Europe according to the global ranking compiled by 21st Century Burlesque.
Ella is also known for her activism, which has made her one of the most recognizable artists of LGBTQIA+ burlesque. She founded The Rouge Academy, Italy’s first gender-free burlesque academy. In June 2021, she was awarded the ‘La Karl du Pignè’ prize by Circolo di Cultura Omosessuale Mario Mieli, in recognition of her activism and commitment spreading the art of burlesque to every-body, without distinction.
Over the years, Ella has collaborated as a performer, speaker, and influencer with some of the most influential names in the artistic and commercial worlds. Among the companies she has worked with are: Calvin Klein, Paramount, Erika Lust, Lelo, and EasyToys.
Alongside her career as a performer and teacher, Ella is also a model and producer. Her most renowned productions include Wet The Show—a bold, erotically charged performance where burlesque, cabaret, singing, circus arts, and fire mix all together to captivate the audience—and Golden Tease, a retrò, elegant dinner show that blends the best of international burlesque with haute cuisine.
From Milan to the world, Ella is an High Femme icon, earning her, in 2021 as well, the cover story of Frisson, magazine dedicated to sexuality, feminism, and freedom.
