This class will explore how to embody music for Burlesque performance. Participants will connect with their bodies through a guided warm up consisting of dynamic movements and intentional stretches to maximize mobility. Students will learn how to dissect and highlight different elements of a song–from lyrics to instrumentation–through listening, observing, and experimentation. Students will learn a short choreographed combination where they will learn how to pace themselves while delivering a dynamic performance that builds from beginning to end. Participants will be given hands-on instruction and personalized critiques to help them fully embody the music with certainty, confidence, and personal flair.

Bob’beyonce is a performer, choreographer, and teacher from Chicago, Il. For 20+ years she has trained in a variety of styles ranging from classical forms to street dance. Bobbi began her burlesque journey in 2020 and since then has been performing consistently throughout the Midwest. She is the 2023 Unrivaled at Unbridled competition winner hosted by Untitled Supper Club where she is a resident performer. Bobbi loves to connect with people through dance and aims to help others build confidence and refine their artistic expression. She is currently a full time performer and dance educator in Chicago. She is a travel enthusiast who loves to gain knowledge and perspective through dance cultures from around the world. Bobbi blends her diverse background in order to curate a uniquely artistic voice authentic to her experience.
